LC Club, Nantes
The largest nightclub in the West of France has opened in a series of regenerated banana warehouses on the historic Ile de Nantes.
Set in the exotic Le Hangar a Bananes, entrepreneur Philippe Clément’s new €2 million investment has provided him with the 3,000-capacity LC Club, and Martin Audio’s French distributors Algam with their first line array installation of this magnitude
To fulfil his technology requirements, Philippe Clément called upon William Buchel, head of locally-based system integrators, ALS — and they in turn contacted Jérôme Garnier of Algam.
As a result, the Algam/Audia installation division were soon discussing with ALS how a Martin Audio line array system could be optimised against this multi-functioning landscape.
According to Audia’s purchasing manager, Matthieu Foubert, “The client trusted both the name and fame of Martin Audio and the strong relationship that existed between Algam, ALS and himself and so the entire deal was based on confidence.”
The design was based on two hangs of five white W8LMI Mini Line Array Installation enclosures with a single W8LMD Downfill box at the base. Isolated on the concrete floor under each of the hangs are three abutted WS218X sub woofers.
Audia’s project manager, Jean-Noel Elouali, set up the system using DISPLAY™ predictive software tool, which equips Martin Audio Line Array users with a powerful virtual 3D environment analysis.
Midway down the dancefloor another pair of W8LMD are flown — with a single groundstacked WS218X under each.
Eight Martin Audio full range architectural AQ8 loudspeakers and 12 x AQ5’s provide the infills in Zones 2 and 3, guaranteeing even coverage throughout the peripheral lounges and annexes.
Powered by a series of Martin Audio’s MA2.8S & MA4.2S amplifiers, overall line array control is entrusted to Martin Audio’s dedicated DX1 digital controllers.
In summary, Audia’s Matthieu Foubert states, “As far as Algam is concerned, this is the first installation of its kind in a club on this scale — and the very first line array in a night club. We are very proud.”
